Perks of Being a Wallflower

I think it’s only fair that my first blog post should be a dedication to the book that made me the person i am today. Perks of Being a Wallflower written by the always genius Stephen Chbosky ladies & gents. As ridiculous as this may seem to people this book actually took my life and changed it for good four years ago. It was given to me as a gift on my first day of high school by a very good friend of mine while going through a very difficult period in my life. She wrote a note on the cover of the book and told me that what was going on is going to be okay once i hit the last page of the book i was about to endure upon. I carried this book around with me everywhere i went for the following two years, i read it religiously and not only saw the words on the pages but studied them and read each line over and over until it sunk in and made me feel something, anything. And it never failed to do so. I hold this little beaten up book very near and dear to my heart, its my best friend in a sense that i go to it with every heartache and hard time that i face to this day. It makes me understand and realize what life it and no matter how many times i read the lines on each page they always mean something different, always give me a different sense and feel of life. It may be odd for someone to speak of a book like this but it has been my saving grace since i was fourteen years old, and four and a half years later i still reach in my bedside table at night when I’m feeling uneasy and read and understand and consume every word.
